Looking for brand creation near you?
Here is what brand creation actually consists of, what it should cost, and the one question worth asking before you hire anyone for it. Useful whether or not you end up working with us.
Brand creation is six things, not one.
Most people asking for a brand are picturing the logo. The logo is roughly a sixth of it, and it is the part that causes the least trouble later.
The mark itself
The logo — and realistically two or three versions of it, because a wide lockup does not fit a square avatar and a full-colour mark disappears on a dark background. If you are handed a single PNG, you have been handed the start of the job rather than the job.
Colour, specified properly
Not "blue" — the exact values, hex for screen and CMYK for print, so the sign company and the website and the business card all land on the same blue. This is the single most common thing missing when a business tells us their brand looks inconsistent.
Typefaces and how they pair
One for headings, one for body, chosen so they work together and so there is a sensible fallback when the real font is not installed on whatever machine is making the next flyer.
The rules
Clear space around the mark, minimum sizes, and what nobody is allowed to do to it — stretch it, recolour it, drop it on a busy photo. A page of this is enough for a small business. A fifty-page brand book is usually being sold to you.
The files, in your hands
Vector for print, raster for web, light and dark, full colour and single colour. You should own them outright and be able to hand them to any printer or developer without asking anyone permission.
Where it gets applied
A brand that exists only in a folder does nothing. The website, the social profiles, the signage, the vehicle, the invoice template — consistency is the whole point, and it only shows up once the system is actually used.
“What do I get, as files?”
Ask it before you sign anything. The answer separates a brand you own from a brand you rent. You want vector files for print, raster for web, light and dark versions, the colour values written down, and the fonts named. If the answer is vague, or the files live in someone else’s account, or a subscription has to stay current for you to keep using your own mark — that is the thing to walk away from, not the price.
It is also the fastest way to tell a designer from a template service. Anyone who has built a brand properly will answer that question immediately, because they have the list in front of them every time they hand a job over.
Based in Homosassa Springs, FL, working well beyond it.
A good share of our work is within driving distance — Citrus, Marion, Levy & surrounding counties, Florida — and for a brand that has to live on signage and vehicles, being able to look at the real thing helps more than people expect. But brand creation is not bound by geography: we do it for small businesses across the United States, and either way you are talking to the person doing the work.
Questions people ask about brand creation
Does brand creation need to be local?
Honestly, no. The design work does not depend on proximity, and we do it for businesses across the country. Local helps in two specific ways: someone can sit down with you and look at the actual signage and vehicles the brand has to live on, and if local search matters to you it helps that we know the area. Neither is a requirement for the brand itself.
What does brand creation cost for a small business?
A professional custom logo with the brand system around it usually lands between $1,000 and $5,000, depending on how many concepts and revision rounds are involved and how much gets applied. Cheap logo deals tend to produce a rebrand a couple of years later, which costs more than doing it once.
How long does it take?
Typically two to four weeks. The design is rarely the bottleneck — decisions are. Projects that stretch out are usually waiting on someone to choose a direction, not on work being done.
Can I just get a logo and sort the rest later?
You can, and sometimes that is the right call — if you are testing an idea, a mark and a colour will do. Just know what you are deferring: without the colour values, the type and the usage rules, the first three things you print will not quite match, and matching them up afterwards costs more than specifying them at the start.
We already have a logo. Is that wasted?
Usually not. More often the mark is fine and what is missing is everything around it — proper files, exact colours, a version that reads at small sizes. That is a much smaller job than a rebrand. If starting over genuinely is the better option we will say so, and we will be straight about what it means for signage and printed stock you have already paid for.
Will a new brand get me found on Google?
Not on its own, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Branding decides whether people trust and remember you once they arrive. Getting found is a separate job — site structure, local pages, a properly managed Google Business Profile, and time. The two support each other but they are not the same work.
